stuck in limbo

playsuit: H&M

shoes: New Look

I went to view another house today. My life at the moment seems to be a bit stuck in limbo, one minute we’ve got the perfect place, next minute the plan changes, houses get sold and then new ones come along. I just want to move already! Me and Abi decided to go into town beforehand to do a bit of shopping. I brought myself a backpack from the men’s section in River Island to use when I’m in LA.
The playsuit is another piece of clothing that I bought for LA. I find H&M’s playsuits fit really nicely and the material is good quality, compared to some other materials in the store. It was one of the first things I’ve bought in a while without actually trying it on, as I hate returning things. I bought the same size as a playsuit from there last year because H&M do tend to produce similar styles year after year.
I’m so excited; the Olympic Torch is in town tomorrow! Just thought I’d share that because I love all the British fun that’s going on at the moment. I really feel like I’m part of something exciting.

week #21

avon lemon sugar and sea breeze nails // eggs for breakfast // white raybans // my current read // mcdonalds - haven’t had one for like 2 months // h&m taupe and spark me up nails // my idea of a onesie // soaking up the sun // yellow dress // jubilee party // niece and nephew, lucy and josh // josh stuffing his face
I’ve had such a lovely week! The weather really does make everyone happier. I want it to continue like this until September. I’ve not done much else all week, other than lie in the garden. I always feel guilty if the suns out and I’m indoors, just because we moan about the British weather that much that when the sun does decide to come out I just want to make the most of it. Needless to say not a lot has been done this week, and the only outfits I’ve wore most days are bikinis.

sunshine yellow

dress: new look
shoes: primark
ring: primark
nails: H&M Taupe and Spark Me Up
I was a bit undecided when I tried this dress on in New Look, but at the time I just had to spend my money on something, and the good old ‘it’ll do for LA’ excuse seemed to nudge me in the direction of the cash desk. It’s been sat in my wardrobe a few weeks and I thought I’d pull it out for a trip to the cupcake shop considering the weather has been gorgeous all week. Usually I like my skirts shorter, but the floaty full skirt is actually quite flattering on a shorter bodied person like myself. The yellow is also great with a tan.
I’m currently getting ready for our Jubilee garden party later on. It’s all very red, white and blue, with bunting and Union Jacks. Enjoy your weekend and remember to sun cream your ears!

wearing white

shirt: H&M
shorts: H&M
shoes: New Look
necklace: Matalan
sunglasses: Avon
watch: Red Herring
The weather has been lush today, so considering I have nothing better to do with my time, I spent the majority of my day lay horizontal in the garden soaking up the vitamin D. I did take a short trip to Tescos with Mum this morning, and this is what I wore. Before I came home, ripped it off and threw on my bikini. I intend on doing the exact same tomorrow, even though I went slightly more red than brown today. But it’s better than resembling a bottle of milk I guess.
These shorts are one of my favourite summer shorts. I got them last summer in the H&M Conscious Collection and I think I only really got much wear out of them in Turkey. They'll definitely be coming to LA with me! I remembered today my horoscope/fashion forecast in Company magazine said to wear white, not that I planned it, I just didn't realise I had so much white until I actually looked in my wardrobe.

week #20

choosing colour schemes // Tuesdays outfit // Wednesdays outfit // Japanese sake and rice face mask // my littlest nephew // another little nephew // testing beds in ikea // the penguin poster in ikea // my current desktop // Saturday nights outfit
My first week off university has been bliss! Not having to feel guilty about having work to do is great and it means I can focus solely on other things I wish to do. I’ve been getting a lot of inspiration for the new apartment after a visit to Dunelm, Ikea, Wilkinsons. Homeware stores are my second favourite to clothes stores!
The weather is looking up this week, which I’m so excited about, so expect lots of sunny photos on instagram and maybe a visit to the beach! You can find me @lindseyyylou.

when the lumberjack met chaplin

shirt: primark
leggings: H&M
hat: topshop
watch: red herring
necklace: H&M
satchel: primark
I wish it was summer already! I swear this time last year my legs were building up a light golden brown tan. This year, pasty white. I’m even considering going on a sunbed, even though there are a lot of health implications. I just don’t trust myself with fake tan, and I hate how patchy it goes when it starts to fade. If anyone has any solutions to this, please share!
I haven’t wore my bowler hat since I had all my hair cut off over 18 months ago. I never thought it looked right with really short hair; it just seemed to stick out the bottom. So when I put my lumberjack shirt on this morning, I thought I’d showcase the hat all over again. I’m also still living in my flatforms, I can’t believe I didn’t invest in a pair sooner!

geek chic

shirt: H&M
skirt: topshop
jacket: ebay
glasses: red or dead @ specsavers
necklace: river island
satchel: primark
watch: red herring
rings: river island and H&M
nails: Pink a dink by No. 7

I wore my flatforms for the second time today; I had to give myself a break from the first time because they rubbed so much. They make a nice change from wearing flat shoes, and they make my legs look so much longer! I’m also wearing my glasses! I get so many people who compliment me on my glasses and the occasional person who asks if they’re real.
I spent the day browsing through homeware in various stores with mum. I brought glasses for the kitchen today - the first thing I’ve bought. It’s so exciting! I’m going to view the toy factory apartment again tomorrow, and hopefully a trip to Ikea is in order on Friday.
