The Sunday Post: Things I want to do & learn

I've only been out of education since May and since then I've had an extra two hours travelling on my working day to contend with. Now I'm heading back to working down the road as a full time visual merchandiser I'm eager to put all that time spent on university work and travelling on some things that I've wanted to learn and do for a while.

  • Learn how to use the video setting on my camera so I can start filming videos for Youtube.
  • Along with filming I want to learn to edit them properly.
  • Be able to cook good healthy meals other than just lasagne or sausage & mash.
  • Get back to the gym, and walk/cycle to work more.
  • Save enough to invest in a new car, namely a mint green Fiat 500.
  • Really make this house a home. 18 months on and most rooms still only have bare lightbulbs.
  • Learn to adjust my own clothes, because, you know, short girl problems.
  • Really get the knack of caring for plants. My flowerbeds were well and truly neglected this summer.
  • Get better with my work/life balance.
  • Look after my finances properly and efficiently. I'd say I'm already pretty good at this but earning more money means I can save more.

The Green Midi

H&M cropped vest
Primark heels
Marc Jacobs clutch
H&M necklace

Some photos just don't turn out quite how you want them to do they. Still, I couldn't not share this beautiful skirt with you. I bought this as a back up for graduation. I love it! It's made of a heavy scuba material but has a lot of movement, I'm definitely going to get a lot of wear out of it this season.

Simple dressing

H&M jumper
Boohoo pink coat (similar here)
Primark necklace
Topshop and H&M rings

I guess we'd call this a more casual outfit of mine, although jeans seem to be my go to everyday at the minute. I've also been reaching for this grey H&M jumper a lot lately too, and I've convinced myself it's cold enough to wear this to work, even though I always end up melting from the inside out.

The Sunday Post: An Appointment at Bobbi Brown

After my missed appointment with Rose, Selfridges Personal Beauty Shopper a few weeks ago (it was entirely my fault) we rescheduled for my next trip to Birmingham which happened to be on Monday when I popped over after work to see The Saturdays live on their Greatest Hits tour.

I met Rose who let me tell you is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She booked me at the Bobbi Brown counter with the lovely Yasmin who set about creating the perfect smokey eye (word has it, hers are the best for miles). She talked me through everything she was using as she was applying it, which was lovely and I fell in love with the Limited Edition Smokey Nudes Eyeshadow Palette - such beautiful shades! After a lot of hard work I was all set to party along at The Sats with a full face of make up, something that rarely happens on a day to day basis anymore.

Bobbi Brown offer a selection of different make up tutorials and the best part is, they're all free of charge. It's definitely an experience I'd recommend if you have a fancy event coming up.

Gibraltar Photo Diary

I fell head over heels for Gibraltar, I said on Instagram it felt like home away from home, which it did. For those who don't know Gibraltar is a quant little peninsular just off Southern Spain that is actually part of the UK. It's strange because although the people are British, they (to me anyway) all seemed to have a Spanish, or foreign twang in their accent. It's a tiny little place but with so much to do. Take me back!
